The 2016 International Property Show, which started on Monday and ends today in Dubai, is probably the most important property fair in the world. These days visitors will be able to see first-hand the best offers on property from more than 100 countries.

According to the organisers of the event, the International Property Show has made possible transactions of more than 40billion US dollars between 2006 and 2015. Also in the same period of time the exhibition has attracted 99,883 visitors, with the UAE generating the highest value of deals.

The event brings together property developers, consultants, traders and investors and is promoted as a one-stop shop opportunity for investors, end users, consumers and real estate professionals from the Middle East and the rest of the world.

The 2016 International Property Show focuses on traditionally sought-after markets for arab investors including European countries such as Italy or United Kingdom. However, for the first time, ‘Golden Visa’ property-for-residency visas are being marketed at the show to various destinations in Europe this year in the newer target markets of Spain, Portugal, and Greece.

In the case of Spain, it is expected to be one of the top 15 participating countries that are likely to take center-stage in the show. The current lower prices and the easy conditions for obtaining residency by means of the Golden Visa scheme have put Spain as one of the most attractive and strongest markets at the event.

A trend that is being observed in global real-estate firms is that they are trying to diversify their investments. This means spreading the capital, and not placing it all solely in one place in order to spread risk. This can mean commercial, residential, and industrial, or geographical diversification, or alternatively, changing between direct property investment and indirect property investment. In any case, whether it is for obtaining residency or making profitable long-term investments, the International Property Show will confirm Spain has many opportunities to offer.
